Greetings on the third day of Christmas!

The season of Christmas is finally here!! And we continue the celebration of Christmas with the Service of Lessons and Carols this Sunday at 11 am. Hope you can participate!

What glorious worship we had on Christmas Eve! I give thanks to God for the message from Fr. Doug and for his godly leadership of our parish. The music was truly inspired! Thank you, Lord, for blessing us with Bob Lacovic - a very gifted, faithful man.

How talented our choir is- Wendy Blakelock, Dayle Eckenrode, Barb Haberkorn, Deb Harris, Arlene Johns, Megan Taylor, and Trinity Voelkel. The church looked beautiful. A moment I treasure is during our singing of Silent Night - as our lights dim and our candles flicker - my heart swelled with gratitude for the incredible Love of our God on truly a Holy Night.

The worship experience on Christmas Eve was possible because of the work of many in preparation: there was a crew who cleaned and a crew who decorated, (p.s. we will need a crew to un-decorate after the Feast of the Epiphany) the altar guild members, our readers and chalicist, Jim Marlowe who prepared the luminaries and set them out with some helpers, and Wendy Blakelock who takes care of many, many details! Thank you all for your faithful service. It was a blessing to worship with you and some of your family members. How we missed those who could not be with us!

And now the work of Christmas begins - making room in our hearts for Jesus.

Joy to the world, the Lord is come

Let earth receive her King

Let every heart prepare Him room

And Heaven and nature sing

We must prepare Him room in our hearts- clearing away the clutter and cobwebs of our worries, past wounds, grudges, regrets, anger, envy, intolerance and idols. Our hearts like our homes can become cluttered with the many things we hold onto as we journey through life. What is taking up space in your heart? The work of Christmas is preparing Him room in our hearts to receive our King.
